Purpose of the Communications Committee
The Communications Committee was formed to execute the
Vision and Mission of Union United Methodist Church.
Union UMC's Vision: Union United Methodist Church is both a
traditional and progressive church.
While maintaining our heritage, we will strive to increase our membership and enlarge
our ministries, both for the purpose of building up the body of Christ and
of serving our communities.
Union UMC's Mission: The purpose of Union United Methodist Church is to
reach out and accept people as they are, help all discover and
grow in a personal relationship with God, and send them out as disciples of Jesus Christ.
In addition to acheiving this goal the committee is also responsible for the following:
- Provide leadership for the denomination in the fields of communication, public relations, and promotion of the general funds and programs of the denomination.
- Provide resources and services to local churches and annual conferences in the field of communications.
- Be the official news gathering and distribution agency of the denomination.
- Strive to increase our membership and enlarge our ministries using many forms of media, both for the purpose of building up the body of Christ and of serving our communities.
