Birthplace: Cathy was born in Carrollton, Illinois.
Paul was born in St. Elizabeth's Hospital, Belleville, Illinois.

Education: Cathy graduated from Sparta High School and went on to receive a BA in Psychology & Sociology from McKendree College.

Paul graduated from Belleville West and then studied Automotive & Diesel Maintenance Technology at Ranken Technical College.

Home Life: Cathy and Paul spend much of their time chasing their two active toddlers, Daniel Aaron & Noah Jordan.

Favorite Food/Resturant: Mexican, Italian, or Chinese; Maxwell's is special because they had their first date there.

Favorite Music/Band: The Obernuefemanns like uplifting and positive music of multiple types.

Favorite Movie/Book: Cathy's favorite movies are "Ben Hur" or "Chronicles of Narnia"; "It's a Wonderful Life"; and recently "Evan Almighty".
Paul enjoys the book "Ice Bound" by Dr. Jerri Nielsen.

Favorite Place: Cathy's favorite place is a creek bottom near her dad's farm.

Perfect Day: The Obernuefemann's idea of a perfect day is being with their family or their church family.

Why I Worship At Union: Union always has a warm welcome by friendly folks;
It helps us appreciate and understand the Word of God;
Plus, we enjoy the music and Sunday School program.

Current Service At Union: Both Cathy and Paul attend the Genesis Sunday School Class.

Cathy is on the Staff/Parish Committee and Lay Leadership Committe. She is a singer in both the ALIVE! Praise Band and Dudley's Rush. She also writes "Alive in the Spirit" articles for The Tidings Newsletter.

Paul is a member of Union's United Methodist Men and is an assistant to the Board of Trustees.

Community Activities: Both Cathy and Paul are members of the Smithton Optimist Club.
Cathy is a member of the Chamber of Commerce.

Surprise: Cathy - I'm an introvert who likes to hang out in jeans or shorts, a T-shirt, barefoot, and no makeup.
Paul - remembers the dates of our first date, our engagement date, our anniversary, etc.
