Birthplace: Grace was born in Belleville, Illinois.

Education: Grace graduated from Belleville Township High School and attended some college classes.

Home Life: Grace retired from Harmony-Emge-Ellis school district. She served 25 years as Secretary to the Superintendent and Board of Education. Grace married in 1944 and had four boys.

Julian III was in the US Navy on the aircraft carrier, Midway. He was a co-pilot and was killed on a takeoff in the Philippines in 1977. John Stephen was killed in an auto accident in 1966. Michael is a high school math teacher in Fontana, California. Scott is a United Methodist pastor in Cape Girardeau, MO. Graces's husband, Julian, died of a heart attack in 1988.

Favorite Food/Resturant: Grace's favorite foods are barbeque and ice cream.

Favorite Music/Band: Grace enjoys classical music.

Favorite Movie/Book: Grace's favorite movie is "From Here to Eternity", starring Burt Lancaster, Montgomery Clift, Deborah Kerr, Donna Reed, and Frank Sinatra.

Favorite Place: Grace's favorite place to be is San Diego, California.

Perfect Day: Grace's idea of a perfect day is to be with her family.

Why I Worship At Union: Grace was confirmed at the First Methodist Church. The English-speaking First Methodist Church and the German-speaking Jackson Street Methodist Church merged together to form Union United Methodist Church in 1950.

Current Service At Union: Grace currently attends the 9:00am worship service and the Forum Sunday School class. She is a member of the UMW's Miriam Circle, the Tuesday Reading Group, Young At Heart, the Covenant Disciple Group, Lay Visitation Visitor Committee, and a Volunteer Receptionist.

Community Activities: Grace is a member of the ABWA, CWU, LA VFW, Veterans Committee, the Senior Citizen's Club, the St. Clair County Genealogical Society, German Sister City, a Volunteer at Memorial Hospital, BEACON and St. Paul's Home. She is a member of LIFT and St Matthew's New Life Club, the PSOP Reading Group, Turkey Hill Grange, and the YMCA.

Surprise: My husband, Julian L. Moon, served in the U.S. Army with my brother, John Raab in WWII. We corresponded with each other while he served in North Africa, Sicily and Anzio, Italy (my brother wasn't much on writing letters). When Julian came back to the States, we met and married.
