Birthplace: Phil and Barb were both born in Belleville.

Education: Barb graduated from BTHS West in '81. She graduated from SIU-E in '85 and received a Masters in Administration from SIU-E in '06.

Phil graduated from BTHS East in '82. He graduated from the Broadcast Center in '85.

Lancers vs Maroons is "quite interesting".

Home Life: The Elmore's home life is typically hectic.
Phil is an insurance agent at Harnist Insurance Agency. Barb is a teacher at Scott Elementary.
Phil also has a DJ business and he is an event coordinator at "The Falls" in Columbia, IL.

So, if they aren't grading papers (or stapling them), they may be planning someone's wedding reception or taking phone calls during storms about leaking roofs and/or basements. But they do have two helpers!

Favorite Food/Resturant: The Elmores enjoy eating at Outback Steakhouse or any place that serves chicken fingers!

Favorite Music/Band: Phil loves The Oak Ridge Boys (27 concerts and counting)!
Barb loves anybody except The Oak Ridge Boys!

Favorite Movie/Book: Barb enjoys reading Mary Higgins Clark books. Phil's favorite book is his appointment book.

Barb's favorite movie is "Top Gun". Phil's favorites movies are "Rocky" and "Shrek".

Favorite Place: The Elmore's favorite place to be is Walt Disney World.

Perfect Day: The Elmore's idea of a perfect day is to fly (not drive) to Disney World, watch Nicole have lunch with Cinderella, watch Stephen play in Dino-Land, ride the Aerosmith roller coaster with Brock. Then, watch each other lie motionless by the pool.

The Elmore's keep hoping this will happen some day.

Why I Worship At Union: We enjoy the kids learning about Jesus.

The Sunday School teachers are great!

We enjoyed seeing Brock sing in the children's choirs, go through confirmation and youth group. Now we look forward to Stephen and Nicole being raised at Union the same way.

Current Service At Union: Phil is a High School Sunday School teacher, serves on the Nurture Committe, is a van driver and attends "The Quest" Sunday School Class.

Barb is a member of St. Peter's Cathedral but enjoys Union and never misses a King's Kids performance.

Community Activities: Together we've chaired DeutschFest's and now the 2006 and 2007 Tour De Belleville Family Bike Ride.

We're also co-moderators of The Belleville Area Weight Loss Surgery Support Group.

Surprise: Phil once ran for Alderman.

Barb voted for his opponent because she was afraid that Phil would win. Phil lost the election by only a few votes. They began dating a few months later, once Barb got tired of saying "No".

Phil promised Barb he would hever become a politician--she then agreed to date him.
